SNU Glo-harmony Scholarship for 2011 Fall

Overview
Seoul National University has been one of collaborative institutions of the Samsung Equal Opportunity Scholarship Foundation’s Glo-harmony (domestic scholarship for students from developing nations) Scholarship Program. The program started from spring semester of 2008. SNU will select two undergraduate/graduate students among applicants from developing countries for Fall semester 2011.

1. Eligibility Criteria
▪ Students from OECD/DAC recipient country:
- Undergraduate students: going into first, second or third year in Fall 2011
- Graduate students: going into first or second semester in Fall 2011
▪ Demonstrating financial need
▪ Majoring in Humanities or Social Sciences are given priority
▪ Willing and capable of contributing to their home country upon graduation.
▪ Having potential to become a global leader
▪ Language proficiency of either English or Korean is highly recommended, but not compulsory

2. Value of Scholarship
- Undergraduate:
▪ Full Tuition Fee is provided by SNU starting from Fall Semester of 2011 (Maximum of 8 semesters)
▪ Scholarships will be revised and renewed every year depending on their grades, study ability,
improvements in Korean Language, and fund availability at the time of renewal.
▪ Financial support (dormitory fee, insurance, text books, food, etc.) will be provided by Samsung
Equal Opportunity Scholarship Foundation
- Graduate:
▪ Tuition or other financial support will be provided by Samsung Equal Opportunity Scholarship

4. Procedure & Important Dates
Application deadline: Aug. 18, 2011 18:00
First Screening: Aug. 19~26, 2011
Interview: Sept. 1~3, 2011
* Only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted
Results: Sept. 6, 2011
* Only final candidates will be notified.
