Biomimetic Chemistry: Control of Water Wettability and Bio/nanointerfaces
This talk deals with recent research progresses in my laboratory, related to biomimetic chemistry. Specifically, we have been interested in the processes found in lotus leaves (superhydrophobic surfaces), gecko’s foot (high-adhesion surfaces), and diatoms (biosilicification). The control of interfaces between living cells and artificial materials as well as water and solid substrates will be discussed.
