6. 내용 :
T cells orchestrate antigen-specific immune responses against wide variety of foreign
pathogens. Many immune-related diseases have close relationship with malfunction of
T cells, thus understanding the dynamics of T cells under various physiological/
pathological circumstances is essential for the rational design of therapeutics against
the diseases. In vitro microfabricated platforms can provide many exciting opportunities
to investigate molecular and cellular dynamics of T cells. In this presentation, I am going
to show three examples of how microfabricated platforms are developed and utilized
to address fundamental questions in T cell biology: (1) T cell-antigen presenting cell pair
arrays fabricated using a bio-friendly photoresist polymer for the study of the molecular
dynamics in immunological synapses, (2) Cell-laden hydrogel microwells for the study of
multi-cellularity of activating T cells, and (3) Nanostructured surfaces fabricated by
UV-assisted capillary force lithography for the study of directional migration of T cells.
