5. 내 용


Governing equations, describing nonlinear dynamics of elastic shell undergoing finite rotation motion, will be presented. Different possibilities for parameterization of the shell director motion will be examined. Two families of time-stepping schemes, Newmark and mid-point, will be discussed. It will be shown that the mid-point scheme can be designed to either conserve or to numerically dissipate the total energy of the shell. The dissipative scheme has proved to be useful for damping out high frequency modes and thus assuring the stability of computed response. Some numerical examples will be presented for illustration.
