Steady/Unsteady Flow Field Measurements and Analyses
1. 제 목 : Steady/Unsteady Flow Field Measurements and Analyses at GE Aviation, Cincinnati, OH
2. 연 사 : Hyoun-Woo Shin
3. 일 시 : 2006년 6월 2일 (금) 오후 3시 ~ 4시
4. 장 소 : 301동 1512호 세미나실
5. 내 용 :
This presentation will discuss various flowfield measurement techniques - using laser velocimetry, hot-wire anemometry, high frequency response pressure transducers, multi-hole probes, and hot-film surface gauges - and unsteady data reduction methods used at GE Aviation to enable designers to gain valuable insight into complex engineering flowfields.
6. 연사약력 :
Dr. Shin has 21 years of experience in the aerospace industry as a manager at Aero Technology Laboratory at GE Aviation in Cincinnati. His professional career has been dedicated to aircraft engine measurement technologies, with particular focus on advanced experimental techniques and unsteady aerodynamics data analysis in the turbomachinery environment.
He was awarded ASME Melville Medal in 1998; Best Paper Award in 2000 from the Turbomachinery Committee and the Structure and Dynamics Committee; and a second ASME Melville Medal Award in 2003. Other honors include 17 Managerial and Achievement Awards from GE Aircraft Engines for advanced measurement technology (1985-2006) and a Turning Goals Into Reality Award and Achievement Awards from NASA. He is a member of ASME and a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Dr. Shin received his Master of Engineering at Yonsei University (Seoul, Korea) in 1974 and earned his Doctorate at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, in 1982. He was a postdoctoral associate at MIT in 1985.
