[기계전공세미나-열공학특강] Time Domain Reflectometry to Monitor Distributed Parameters
6월 4일 세미나를 마지막으로 2008년 1학기 기계전공 대학원 세미나 과목은 종료됩니다.

1. 제 목 : Time Domain Reflectometry to Monitor Distributed
Parameters
2. 연 사 : 윤명근 박사
3. 일 시 : 2008년 6월 4일(수) 16:30-17:30
4. 장 소 : 301동 105호
5. 내 용 :
Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) is a method of sending a fast pulse to a
transmission line, and then monitoring the reflection signal returning back
from impedance changes along the line. It can interrogate distributed
changes along the entire length of the sensor line, rather than at discrete
points as with a fiber optic sensor. Thus, TDR can be used as a distributed
sensor to monitor in real time both process parameters during composite
manufacturing processes and health parameters of composite structures in
service. The presentation will show a few examples of TDR applications 1)
to monitor resin flow and degree of cure in vacuum assisted resin transfer
molding (VARTM) processes and 2) to monitor crack propagation,
distributed strains and failure locations for a few test samples under
various load conditions.
6. 연사약력 :
Dr. Myung-Keun Yoon is an assistant professor in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology,
USA. He was a research associate at the University of Delaware, Center for
Composite Materials from 1998 to 2006. He obtained his BS, MS, and PhD
degrees at the Mechanical Engineering Department from Seoul National
University, Korea. Dr. Yoon’s research has focused on modeling, sensing,
control and automation of composite manufacturing processes and
structural health monitoring. His recent research interests include sensors
and actuators in biomedical applications.
