[기계] Computer Models of the Musculoskeletal System
1. 연 사 : Professor John Rasmussen, Ph.D.
Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark
2. 제 목 : Computer Models of the Musculoskeletal System
3. 일 시 : 2010년 10월 8일 (금) 15:00~16:00
4. 장 소 : 신공학관 301동 102호
5. 내 용:
This presentation addresses the dream of simulating the mechanics of the human musculoskeletal system. The human body is a very complicated mechanical system for a number of reasons: It is very complex with literally thousands of individual muscle units and hundreds of bones connected by joints in closed kinematic chains. It is also governed mostly voluntary muscle activations driven by the central nervous system. This means that, where dead mechanical systems can be analyzed based on the laws of nature, such as the principle of minimum potential energy for structures, the same is not necessarily the case for the human body.
On the other hand, the ability to simulate the reactions of the human body to various situations we put it in has an enormous potential. We could optimize performance, develop better surgical treatments, prevent injuries, design optimal rehabilitation and develop much better products.
In this presentation, state-of-the-art musculoskeletal models are presented, and we look into methods of how we can formulate the intentions of the central nervous system into equations that predict the behavior of the model. Numerous examples from the AnyBody Modeling System are shown.
