5. 내 용
Recent advances in structural DNA nanotechnology offer versatile approaches to build complex nanometer-scale constructs for various scientific applications. DNA origami is one of the most successful methods enabling precise control over structural, mechanical, and chemical properties of DNA-based nanostructures. However, difficulties in manual design and experimental validation of complicated three-dimensional nanostructures significantly slow down the design and manufacturing process and limit the technology only to a small number of groups of experts. Here we present a computational procedure that predicts the three-dimensional shape of DNA origami nanostructures using the finite element method. This predictive method allows the designers to validate and modify their designs computationally prior to expensive experimental synthesis, which expedites the design-validate-manufacture process of DNA-based nanostructures.
