일본 문부과학성지원 동경대학교 공과대학 박사과정(장학) 모집

아래와 같이 일본 문부과학성이 주관하는 동경대학교 공과대학 박사과정 장학생을 모집하오니 관심있는 학생들의 많은 지원바랍니다.


원서제출 : 공과대학 대외협력실 39동 212호 (담당: 김희선)

원서마감 : 9월 30(금) 17시까지

제출서류 : 모든 서류는 영어로 작성되어야 함

1. 지원서(application) - 양식 첨부

2. 수학계획서(research plan) - 양식 첨부

3. 지도교수 추천서 1부(양식 없음, 자유양식)

4. 성적표(학부+대학원)

5. 졸업증명서(학부+대학원) *대학원 재학생의 경우, 졸업증명서 또는 재학증명서로 대체

6. 영어성적표(토플, 토익, 텝스 등 공인된 영어성적표 모두 가능)

7. 여권 사본 1부



선발절차 :

- 서류전형으로 1차 합격된 학생에 한하여 온라인 접수가 실시되며, 11월 21일 서울대에서 2차 면접 진행

*서류전형 합격자는 추후 별도 추가 서류 요구(추후 통보)

- 1차 합격자는 개별 통보 함

- 합격 후 포기시에는 일본정부에서 요구하는 서류(사유서 등)가 까다로우므로 지원시 유념하여 주시기 바랍니다.

- 지원자격, 장학금수혜내역 등의 정보는 하단 영문내용을 참고하시기 바랍니다.

- 동경대 공대 소속 분야만 지원가능하며, 사전 동경대 지도교수에게 수학승인을 받은 후 지원하여야 합니다.

- 본 장학프로그램은 모든 과정이 영어로 진행되며, 일어능력은 필수사항이 아님

Special Graduate Program for students from Seoul National University for 2012


The Graduate School of Engineering offers Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarships to maximum four* qualified students who wish to work toward Doctoral degree at the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.

*This number may be increased depends on financial condition.


1. FIELD OF STUDY
The study area must be within a field accepted by one of faculty members of the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo. http://www.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/etpage/

2. QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Nationality: Applicants must have the nationality of a country which has diplomatic relations with the Japanese government. Applicant who has Japanese nationality at the time of application will not be eligible.
(2) Age: Applicant must have been borne after April 2, 1977.
(3) Academic Background:
Applicants must have a Master’s Degree or research experiences equivalent to master’s research works. (Those who will receive a Master’s Degree by the end of September 2012 may apply).
(4) Health: Applicant must be physically and mentally healthy enough to purse study at the university.
(5) Arrival in Japan: Applicants must be able to leave for and arrive in Japan within the dates set by the university. (Estimated dates are between October 1 and October 7)

Scholarship will not be awarded in the following cases:

1: The applicant is an active member of the military or a civilian employed by the military.
2: The applicant is unable to travel to Japan within the dates set by the receiving university.
3: The Applicant was a grantee of a Monbukagakusho Scholarship in the past. However, he/she will be selected if he/she has had at least three years of research or teaching experience after returning to his/her home country.
4: The applicant is already the recipient of a scholarship from an organization (including a governmental organization in his/her country of origin) other than the Monbukagakusho.
5: The Applicant, consider a “future grantee” and selected as such, is unable to graduate within the pre-set date or unable to fulfill graduation requirements.


3. STATUS AT THE UNIVERSITY
The grantee will study as a Doctoral course student.

4. TENURE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
Doctoral Course Student: October 2012 to September 2015.


5. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
(1) Allowance: Under the fiscal 2011 budget, each grantee will be provided monthly with 153,000 yen (an additional monthly stipend of 2,000 or 3,000 yen may be provided to those undertaking study or research in specially designated regions) .However, these amounts are subject to change depending on the annual budget of each year. The scholarship will not be paid to a grantee who takes a leave of absence or is long absent from his/her university.
(2) Traveling Costs
a) Transportation to Japan: Each grantee will be provided, according to his/her itinerary and route as designated by Monbukagakusho, with an economy class air ticket from the international airport closest to his/her place of residence to Narita International Airport or Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport). Expenses such as inland transportation from his/her place of residence to the nearest international airport, airport tax, special taxes on overseas travel and travel expenses within Japan will be borne by the grantee (the place of residence of the grantee shall in principle be the address stated in the application form). Air travel from a country other than the grantee’s nationality will not be covered.
b)Transportation from Japan: The grantee who returns to his/her home country within the last-payment month of his/her scholarship will be provided, upon application, with an economy class air ticket for a flight from Narita International Airport or Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport) to the international airport closest to his/her place of return.
Note: Insurance premiums for travel to/from Japan shall be borne by the grantee. The airport the grantee departs from or returns to must be an airport of the country of his/her nationality.
(3) School Fees: Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at the university will be exempted.


6. DECISION ON ADMISSION
The decision will be made by the documents and the interview in Seoul.
The official decision will be announced twice. First announcement will be provided by the end of December. Second announcement will be provided by the early February. Both official decisions will be sent to the Dean of College of Engineering, Seoul National University from the Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.
The interview will be held on campus of Seoul National University on 21 November, 2011.
One applicant will be given 20 minutes; 5minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for questions and answers.

7. DEADLINE AND THE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
Applicants must submit the documents to the Office of International Affairs, College of Engineering, Seoul National University by 30th September 2011.

Applicants who passed the first selection conducted by Seoul National University will be required to submit the following documents online later on. Applicants must personally account any time it may take to prepare required documents.

-Statement of Study Plans/ Research Proposals (no more than 1,000 words)
-Summary of your graduation thesis/project
-List of title and details of journals
-List of titles and details of conference papers
-Letter of Recommendation #1(addressed to President HAMADA Junichi of the University of Tokyo from the Vice President of Seoul National University) -> 1차 합격자에 한해 제출 예정
-Letter of Recommendation #2 (from applicant’s supervising professor)
-Academic Transcript

Certified academic transcript of all universities attended (to be issued by the University Authority). If the transcript does not contain GPA (Grade Point Average), the recommendation letter(s) shall state the class rank or other scale of academic achievement.

-Certificate of Degree/ Diploma
-Letter or Certificate of Expected Graduation
-English Language Proficiency (TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Score Certificate or Official English Language Certificate)
-Personal Identification (photocopy of the census register, passport, or other proof of citizenship)

The Documents submitted will not be returned. The documents must be written in English.
