Developmental evaluation 방식의 모델 학습 기법을 소개합니다. 이 방법은 모델을 학습해야 하는 많은 문제들에 적용할 수 있습니다. 컴퓨터 공학 문제가 아니더라도 적용할 수 있는 범위가 굉장히 넓어 다른 학과에도 유용한 세미나가 될 것입니다. 관심 있으신 분들의 많은 참석 부탁 드립니다.

-Abstract :
We introduce a new technique for learning complex models from structured data. In more detail, the technique takes as input, data from a family of related problems of increasing complexity, and generates a model of the data in a suitable modeling language. It gives more structured and scalable solutions to such families of problems than previous methods. In testing on benchmark problems, the system is able to solve problems orders of magnitude more complex than previous systems. It is now ready for real-World applications, and we are seeking suitable applications from engineering and related fields. The talk will describe the technique, and evaluate the kinds of problems to which it is particularly suited.
The system combines previous ideas in evolutionary computation - genetic programming and developmental processes - with new analogies from natural systems - continued evaluation during development - to give more structured and scalable solutions to complex problems. The talk will give examples of benchmark problems already tackled with these methods, and show both that the system is able to solve far more complex problems than previously, and to develop more structured (and potentially more understandable) solutions as well.
Mr Hoang Tuan-Hao is a final-year PhD student from the University of New South Wales, Canberra campus, Australia. He is currently visiting the Structural Complexity Laboratory (Director: Prof. Bob McKay) of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Seoul National University.
