5. 내용 :
The ChemCam instrument suite will provide remote sensing for the 900 kg
2011 Mars Science Laboratory rover. ChemCam consists of the first laser-
induced breakdown spectrometer (LIBS) to be used in space, capable of
analyses to distances of 7 m, as well as a remote micro-imager (RMI) to
provide context images with a resolution of 100 microradians. The project is
led by Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in the US.
At LANL we are also exploring the use of LIBS for other planetary
environments with both high and no ambient atmospheric pressure. I will
present recent LIBS experiments under Venus conditions (92 atmospheres and
high temperatures) and also in lunar conditions (in vacuum).
